If I had to guess, it could be something as simple as a new battery and fresh gas. I imagine that the hose bursting might be due to a water pump, so it might be a good idea to replace that as well.
I tend to believe the seller that it hasn’t been driven by looking at the aftermarket Alpine tape deck.
As for the Mazda, not sure how good the “breaks” are if he ran into a tree.
